Today’s challenge is Supernatural, which gives me an excellent excuse to paint glitter on my nails and draw unicorns.
Nail Polishes and Materials Used:
Pink – Innisfree #116
Purple – China Glaze Sweet Hook
Topcoat – Essence Absolute Pure
White acrylic ink
Yaaaay unicorns! This manicure is pretty simple – I used Sweet Hook in a gradient over 2 coats of #116, then smoothed it out with some topcoat. I then used my calligraphy pen to draw the unicorn and the sparkle shapes. I think I might add some glitter later, because unicorns absolutely require glitter.
Today’s challenge is Glitter. Yay…I love glitter! However, I do not love my middle fingernail. You can see that it’s starting to curl inwards as it’s growing out.
Nail Polishes and Materials Used:
OPI Blue My Mind
Tonymoly Wonder Blue Woman
3D gold stars
This manicure was easy peasy. I made a subtle glitter gradient with Wonder Blue Woman over Blue My Mind, and used Goldeneye for the accent nail. Then I stuck on some cute gold stars. Gosh, how pretty is Goldeneye? I’m absolutely in love with this colour. It’s like having bling on every finger!
Yup…more Sweet Hook, haha. This is definitely one of my favourite colours. I used a dotting tool dipped in white acrylic to do the polka dots, since that way it’s easy to erase mistakes. And boy, do I make mistakes…I have a love hate relationship with polka dots. I can’t stand when they’re not in straight lines or when the dots aren’t all the same size…so I redid them all about 3 times before giving up, lol! Then I used some glue to stick a resin bow to my thumb, which promptly fell off 10 seconds after I took the photo. Sigh.
Today’s challenge is Black and White. Probably my least favourite colour combo on my own nails. Plain white just looks awful on my nails…I love making nail sets in these colours though~
Gosh…I didn’t notice how badly they’d chipped/shrunk until I zoomed in! Oh well…
Nail Polishes Used:
Cuteberry Lacquers Crazy Diamond (tee hee)
Etude House Jelly Pop
SH French White
Months (maybe years) ago I saw an adorable Etude House advertisement featuring cat nail art. I adore cats so I hunted down the ad. It’s for their nail art pens, which are apparently pretty decent.
I’m going to do a cute animal nail art tutorial soon, so I can show you guys how to make the kitty!
First, I painted 1 coat of Sation Black (opaque, non-streaky black in 1 coat? be still my heart!) on each nail except for the ring finger, which is 2 coats of SH French White. I used some Seche Vite to speed things up. I then used a makeup sponge to make a glitter gradient on the black nails using Crazy Diamond. Last, I used calligraphy pens to paint the kitty on my ring finger using black and white acrylic ink. The last touch was to use a dotting tool very carefully to give Mr Kitty a silver bow. I then used Jelly Pop to seal it in, and glued on a clear rhinestone to decorate the bow.
For some reason the cuticle on the white nail basically peeled off. I think I must have messed up with my Seche Vite >_< Oh well…
Hi everyone! Today I’m going to begin the 31 day challenge I’ve seen going around – it’ll get me into the habit of blogging more, and it looks like loads of fun. The only caveat is that I’m going to be using acrylics sometimes because I just don’t have the time to do my own nails each day. That, and my cuticles look awful since it’s wintertime, so I won’t subject them to any more acetone than I already do!
With that, let’s begin the challenge. First up is Red.
Nail Polishes Used:
Etude House Jelly Pop Top Coat
OPI The Spy Who Loved Me
I’m sorry that the photos aren’t as good as usual. I have intensely bright halogen lighting in my house and there’s absolutely no sun outside, lol. It’s this or nothing!
Anyway…I love red and black together, so I decided to do a lace pattern on red.I was inspired by the packaging for these adorable Lioele lip colour sticks. Apparently they’re not that great, but the package is cute so that’s all that matters right? Haha.
Honestly these were pretty straightforward. I used 2 coats of The Spy Who Loved Me, which is a cute orangey red with gold glitter flecks. I used my calligraphy pen and black ink to draw on the lace designs. I then used Jelly Pop to add the rhinestones and pearls.
Many moons ago, when I was really into goth style, it was all about clunky boots and black clothing. Now there’s apparently a ‘Pastel Goth’ trend which keeps all the inverted crosses and skulls but drowns them in pastel colours and ribbons and glitter. I have no idea when this happened…probably with the advent of Tumblr? Pastel and goth…two words I never thought I’d see in the same sentence.
Anyway, I decided to do my own take on this trend because I think it’s really cute! To begin, I painted 2 coats of #CBL601 (a pastel that’s opaque on me in 2 coats? SO HAPPY!) and sponged Sweet Hook on the tips to create a gradient. I then used my frankenpolish on top to smooth out the gradient and to add a very subtle holo shimmer. The particles are so small that you can only see them slightly when the light hits them. So cute ❤ ! Next, I used acrylic ink and my calligraphy pen to paint the white designs on each nail. After it was all dry, I used a dot of glue to stick on the rhinestones and pearls. Finally, I sealed everything in with Jelly Pop.
Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to leave any questions or comments~
Ok guys, are you ready for the laziest Manicure Monday ever?
I had some gold studs lying around so I decided to see how they’d hold up on my real nails, since I’ve only used them on decorative false nails. The pink is Etude House Strawberry Stars Candy, and the green is Etude House Mint Choco Chip (Check my review of these two here!). My nails were already done up for the swatches. I used a dab of super sticky clear polish near the cuticle and then stuck a stud on top. That’s…about it. Haha~
